TABIA Group and FlyKhiva Sign Cooperation Memorandum
A strategic cooperation memorandum has been signed between TABIA Group, one of Azerbaijan’s leading groups operating in the hospitality, health tourism and hotel management sectors, and FlyKhiva, a well-known tourism and aviation company from Uzbekistan.
The signing ceremony, held at Hilton Garden Inn Baku, was attended by the management teams of both companies, representatives of the Azerbaijan Tourism Board, as well as members of the media.
The primary objective of the memorandum is to strengthen the promotion of Naftalan in international markets and support the increase of tourist arrivals from Uzbekistan to Azerbaijan.
Within the framework of the partnership, a charter flight programme has been launched to provide direct and convenient access to the region for visitors wishing to benefit from the therapeutic properties of Naftalan oil. This initiative aims to enhance the travel experience of guests and contribute to making Naftalan a more accessible destination for international tourists.
The partnership has already demonstrated successful initial results. The first charter flight operated by FlyKhiva from Uzbekistan to the city of Ganja was met with significant interest and was successfully completed. Considering the growing interest and increasing demand, the parties are currently exploring opportunities to further increase the frequency of flights beyond the current once-a-week schedule. The initiative is expected to contribute to the development of tourism relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, while also strengthening regional economic and cultural cooperation.
Uygar Kocas, Chief Executive Officer of TABIA Group, stated:
"Naftalan is one of the most valuable health tourism destinations in Azerbaijan. Our cooperation with FlyKhiva will help introduce this potential to a wider audience and attract new flows of tourists to our country. The success of the first charter programme demonstrates the significant opportunities that exist in this direction."
FlyKhiva Founder Imran Nazarov noted:
"Naftalan is one of the destinations generating considerable interest in the Uzbek market. Through this partnership, we aim to contribute to the further development of tourism relations with Azerbaijan."
The signed memorandum will contribute to the development of tourism cooperation between the two countries, enhance the international promotion of Naftalan, and further strengthen Azerbaijan’s position in the health tourism sector.
It should also be noted that Naftalan is a resort city renowned for its unique therapeutic oil, which has no equivalent anywhere else in the world, and is considered one of Azerbaijan’s most important health tourism centres. Distinguished from other types of oil by its unique composition, Naftalan oil has for many years been regarded as an effective and irreplaceable treatment for musculoskeletal, dermatological and peripheral nervous system disorders.
Thanks to this unique natural resource, Naftalan welcomes thousands of visitors from different countries every year and is recognized as one of the region’s leading therapeutic tourism destinations.
The health hotels Garabagh Resort & Spa, Chinar Health Hotel and Gashalti Health Hotel, which are part of TABIA Group’s portfolio in Naftalan, offer guests internationally recognized accommodation standards, professional medical services, personalized treatment programmes and modern spa facilities. Combining contemporary hospitality standards with Naftalan’s centuries-old therapeutic traditions, these hotels play a significant role in the development of the region’s health tourism potential and provide high-quality services to thousands of guests from around the world each year.
